Daikin is the most widely installed air conditioning brand in Brisbane homes, and for good reason: its split systems handle South East Queensland’s humidity, heat and long cooling season better than most. Our Brisbane technicians install, repair and service the full Daikin range — from single-room splits in Queenslanders to multi-zone ducted systems in new builds across the northside, southside, bayside and western suburbs.

Daikin installation in Brisbane
A Daikin unit only performs as well as its installation. We size, place and commission every system properly so you get the rated efficiency and the full manufacturer warranty.
- Free on-site assessment and heat-load sizing — room volume, ceiling height, insulation, glazing, orientation and Brisbane’s design conditions, so you don’t end up with an oversized unit that short-cycles and never dehumidifies.
- Split system installation — back-to-back or long pipe runs, wall or bracket-mounted condensers, tidy duct-taped or ducting-covered line sets.
- Multi-head installation — one outdoor unit serving 2–5 indoor heads, ideal for townhouses and renovations where outdoor space is tight.
- Ducted installation and zoning — ceiling-space unit, insulated flexible ductwork, zone motors and controller placement, plus roof-space access planning for older Brisbane homes.
- Cassette and bulkhead units for offices, shops and open-plan living areas.
- Electrical works — dedicated circuit, isolator, switchboard upgrade if required, and compliance certificate on completion.
- Old unit removal and refrigerant recovery handled legally and included in the quote.

Daikin repairs
Most Daikin faults are diagnosable on the first visit. We carry common spares for the popular Cora, Lite and Alira series, so many repairs are completed same day.
Problems we fix most often
- Not cooling or only blowing warm air — low refrigerant, blocked coil, failed compressor capacitor or faulty thermistor
- Water dripping from the indoor unit — blocked or sagging condensate drain, dirty blower wheel, iced-up coil
- Unit turning itself off, or the timer LED flashing an error code
- Outdoor fan or compressor not starting — capacitor, contactor, inverter PCB or fan motor
- Loud rattling, grinding or squealing from the indoor fan bearing
- Musty or sour smell from mould in the blower and coil
- Remote not responding, or the unit ignoring setpoint
- Inverter PCB and control board faults after storms and power surges
Reading Daikin error codes
Daikin wall splits report faults by flashing the timer light; hold the remote’s cancel button to display the code. Common ones we see in Brisbane:
Code | Meaning | Typical fix |
U0 | Low refrigerant / gas shortage | Leak test, repair, regas |
U4 / UF | Indoor–outdoor communication error | Interconnect wiring or PCB |
A5 | Freeze-up or high-pressure protection | Clean coil/filter, check airflow and charge |
A6 | Indoor fan motor fault | Fan motor or PCB |
E7 | Outdoor fan motor fault | Fan motor, capacitor |
F3 | High discharge pipe temperature | Charge, restriction, dirty condenser |
H6 | Compressor position-sensor fault | Inverter PCB or compressor |
C4 / C9 | Faulty thermistor | Sensor replacement |
Codes are a starting point, not a diagnosis. Running a system that’s flagging U0 or F3 can destroy the compressor — turn it off and book a technician.
Daikin servicing and maintenance
Brisbane’s humidity, salt air on the bayside and heavy pollen make annual servicing worthwhile. It restores lost efficiency, prevents mould and keeps warranty conditions satisfied.
Standard Daikin service includes
- Filter clean or replacement
- Chemical or high-pressure clean of the indoor coil and blower wheel
- Condensate tray and drain flush, plus antibacterial treatment
- Outdoor condenser coil clean and fin straightening
- Refrigerant pressure and superheat check, leak inspection
- Electrical test: amp draw, capacitors, contactors, terminal tightness
- Temperature split test across the coil and airflow check
- Ducted systems: zone motor operation, duct joint and insulation inspection
- Written condition report with any recommendations
Recommended frequency: every 12 months for homes; every 6 months for ducted systems, coastal properties, pet households and commercial sites.
Daikin models and ranges we support
- Wall-mounted splits — Cora (FTXV), Lite (FTXF), Alira X (FTXM), Zena (FTXJ), plus older Cora/Zena and pre-2015 FTXS and FTXB series
- Ducted — Inverter Ducted (FDYAN/FDYQN), Premium Inverter Ducted, Bulkhead (FDXS/FBA)
- Multi-split — Super Multi NX and 2MXM/3MXM/4MXM/5MXM outdoor units
- Cassettes — Round Flow and 4-way blow ceiling cassettes
- Floor-standing and under-ceiling models for Queenslanders and shopfronts
- Light commercial — Sky Air, VRV IV and VRV 5 (repairs and servicing; VRV design by arrangement)
- Controls — BRC remote controllers, Daikin Airbase, Daikin Mobile Controller and Wi-Fi adaptors, MyAir/zone controller integration
Older or discontinued Daikin models are still serviceable in most cases; where a part is obsolete we’ll tell you honestly whether repair or replacement is the better spend.
Daikin FAQs
How long does a Daikin split system last in Brisbane?
Typically 10–15 years with annual servicing. Coastal properties in the bayside suburbs often see less because salt corrodes the outdoor coil — a yearly condenser wash makes a real difference.
What size Daikin do I need for my room?
As a rough guide: 2.5 kW for a bedroom up to about 20 m², 3.5 kW for 20–30 m², 5–6 kW for a living area up to 45 m², and 7–8 kW for large open-plan spaces. Brisbane’s humidity and west-facing glass push this up, so we always confirm with an on-site load calculation rather than a rule of thumb.
Is Daikin better than other brands?
Daikin has excellent inverter compressors, strong dehumidification and the widest spare-parts availability in Australia, which keeps repair costs and wait times down. Mitsubishi Electric is quieter at low fan speeds; ActronAir handles extreme heat well. We’ll give you a straight comparison for your specific home rather than pushing one brand.
What warranty comes with a Daikin?
Daikin residential splits and ducted systems generally carry a 5-year parts and labour warranty in Australia when installed by a licensed installer and registered with Daikin. We register every system we install and give you the paperwork. Note that warranty does not cover damage from lack of maintenance, storm surges or blocked drains.
Why is my Daikin leaking water inside?
Nine times out of ten it’s a blocked condensate drain — dust, mould and insects clog the line, water backs up in the tray and overflows. It can also be a dirty blower wheel throwing droplets, or a frozen coil melting. Turn the unit off to avoid ceiling damage and book a drain clean.
Do you use genuine Daikin parts?
Yes. We source genuine Daikin PCBs, fan motors, sensors and capacitors through Australian channels so your warranty stays intact.
Can you add Wi-Fi control to an existing Daikin?
Most Alira X and Zena models have it built in. Cora, Lite and older FTXS units can take a plug-in Daikin Wi-Fi adaptor, which we can supply and configure with the Daikin Mobile Controller app.
How much does a Daikin repair cost?
Diagnostic call-out starts at [PRICE], with common repairs like capacitors, drain clears and sensor replacements in the [RANGE] bracket. Compressor and inverter PCB work costs more — we always quote before proceeding and never charge for work you haven’t approved.
Which Brisbane suburbs do you cover?
All of Brisbane and surrounds, including the CBD, inner north and south, Chermside, Aspley, Carindale, Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank, Indooroopilly, Kenmore, Wynnum, Redlands, Logan, Ipswich, and out to Moreton Bay.
